Skanska has won a £23.75 million contract to design and construct a new mixed-use development on High Holborn in Central London.
311-318 High Holborn will comprise new CAT A office accommodation, as well as seven shell retail units and nine residential units.
The building will stand on a raft foundation and RC cores, with a steel frame surrounded by a stone and brick façade, much of which has been retained. Close attention has been paid to the Chancery Lane conservation area, in which the development sits and the building will provide a traditional frontage, complementing its surroundings.
The project, for Ebble Developments Ltd will begin on site in the Autumn and was awarded to Skanska based on the team’s unrivalled experience of Central London building schemes and the financial stability offered by the Skanska Group.
“We’re delighted to be working with Ebble Developments on this key scheme,” said Dave Shadwell, Managing Director of Skanska’s Commercial Construction Operating Unit. “It shows that our combination of technical expertise and innovative solutions to Central London schemes is delivering real benefits to our clients and making our offerings very attractive to the marketplace.”
Skanska’s Novated Design Team includes Architect Sidell Gibson, Structural Engineers Whitby Bird and Services Consultants Cundalls.
