Skanska acquires 66 Queen Square in Bristol

Press release 31/10/2012 11:00 CET

Skanska Project Development today announces that it has purchased 66 Queen Square in Bristol, adding to the company’s land bank portfolio following the acquisition of The Monument Estate in London earlier this year

The site occupies a prominent position, opposite the prestigious Grade I Listed Queen Square in the centre of the city.

Queen Square is the largest Georgian square outside of London, originally developed in the early eighteenth century it remains one of the largest Georgian squares in Europe. Today, it offers a fantastic and vibrant setting for tenants, residents and visitors to Bristol, hosting cultural events such as the Bristol Harbour Festival each year.

The development has planning consent for 60,000 sqft of Grade A office space, with the listed building sympathetically integrated to create impressive meeting rooms with views over the square. Once complete the development will offer a fantastic high specification office in an equally fantastic location.

Commenting on the land acquisition, Skanska UK’s Executive Vice President Cecilia Fasth said: “With the excellent location, few developments under construction and the limited Grade A availability in Bristol, this project offers great potential for Skanska to showcase our expertise in sustainable development”.

Development Manager Kelly Iles, will be responsible for the delivery of the development, working closely with the local Skanska team.
