Skanska Construction chief executive Keith Clarke joined UCATT secretary general George Brumwell to highlight the drive to raise standards of safety competence on construction sites.
The pair visited a Skanska project in London to present certificates to operatives working for subcontractors on the site who had successfully completed a CITB safety course arranged by Skanska.
The course is part of the training required to gain a CSCS card, a nationally recognised qualification which demonstrates competence on a construction site.
Keith Clarke said: ”Skanska is working towards having a qualified workforce on its project sites and events like this are a step in that direction.”
