Skanska has strengthened its Integrated Projects Board with the appointment of three new Directors - Barry White from Partnerships UK, Mike Staples joining from Faithful & Gould and James Berry who joins from BAA.

Barry White takes up his position of Director of Education with immediate effect. Barry’s appointment reflects Skanska’s drive to position itself as a market leader and respond to the challenges facing the education sector.
For the past three years Barry has been Project Director at Partnerships UK developing its reputation in Scotland and playing a vital role between the public and private sectors. Prior to Partnerships UK, Barry was a Director of Morrison plc, setting up the company’s facilities management business and developing and implementing the organisations strategy to move into the PFI marketplace.
Mike Staples is appointed Development Director, again with immediate effect. Mike has an excellent network within the construction industry developed over the last
30 years.
Mike was appointed Managing Director of Hanscomb at 33 and subsequently European Managing Director in 1998, a role he undertook until the company’s acquisition by Faithful & Gould in 2002. This, combined with his exceptional experience in cost management will be a key strength in the continuing development of Skanska Integrated Projects.
James Berry joins Skanska on December 1st as Director of Design. James will lead the development of all design work across Skanska’s projects to ensure innovative and exemplary design solutions are achieved. This appointment reflects Skanska’s commitment to improving the nation’s social and economic infrastructure through schemes of the highest design quality.
James joins us from BAA where he has been Head of Design for the prestigious Terminal 5 programme at London, Heathrow. James has led the design of T5 since the public Inquiry in 1994. He was instrumental in the development of the design of this £4.2 billion project that has won praise from the public inquiry inspector, design commentators and stakeholders alike. Prior to joining BAA James was Senior Design Manager on the Crossrail project, responsible for developing schemes in support of the first Parliamentary Bill.
