Skanska UK Chief Executive Keith Clarke has become the first Briton to join Skanska’s Senior Executive Team (SET), taking responsibility for three business units - the UK Group ( including Mining, LNG, India and Gammon in Hong Kong), Poland and the Czech Republic.
Taking over as Chief Executive of Skanska UK is David Fison.
Mr Clarke’s promotion to Executive Vice President of Skanska is effective immediately and comes just 18 months after Skanska acquired its UK operation. The Senior Executive Team (SET) of six is headed by the group’s President and Chief Executive, Claes Björk, who said: "We welcome Keith to SET. He has established a strong and profitable business in the UK which has fitted well into the Skanska Group and I am sure he will bring new ideas and strengths to the SET.”
Mr Fison has been appointed Chief Executive of Skanska UK with responsibility for all the UK based companies and for Skanska Cementation India. This appointment is effective from March 1st and he will continue to report to Keith Clarke.
David Fison joined the company as Executive Vice President for its main contracting activities both in the UK and internationally. In April last year he was appointed Executive Vice-President responsible for developing the group’s local/global mining business, Cementation Skanska, and its specialist LNG business, Skanska Whessoe, which he will continue to do along with his new responsibilities.
A Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, David Fison has spent his entire working life in construction, with experience ranging from tunnels and power plants to road and rail projects. With a solid background in contracting, he has for many years championed the client-focused culture behind Rethinking Construction and is a founder board member of the UK Government led Movement for Innovation.
