KVAERNER SIGNS £26M EDINBURGH OFFICE CONTRACT

Kvaerner Construction has signed a £26 million contract a six storey office building in the heart of Edinburgh.

Princess Exchange in Tollcross, the new commercial district of the city, is being constructed for Teesland Group. Kvaerner’s contract includes the construction 15,000 square metres of high-quality office space and an underground car park for 175 vehicles.

Piling for the car park will be carried out by Kvaerner Construction’s piling and ground engineering specialist company, Kvaerner Cementation Foundations. The building, which will be constructed with reinforced concrete and structural steel, will be clad with glazed curtain walling, rain-screen, structural glazing and stone cladding.

Work has already started on site and is due to be completed in November next year.

Kvaerner Construction’s Glasgow-based office has won a number of contracts in Scotland recently including the £4 million refurbishment of the Plaza Shopping Centre in East Kilbride, and the £5 million refurbishment of the prestigious Justiciary Building in Glasgow.
