Skanska Construction’s joint venture company in Hong Kong, Gammon Construction, has been chosen by Glory Star Investments to construct a 29-storey building in Hong Kong in a contract worth £50 million (HK$550 million).
The project comprises a total floor area of 26,000 square metres and includes a 14-storey office block, eight-storey restaurant, three-storey shopping centre and fours levels of basement car parking. Work starts immediately with completion set for late 2002.
The building will feature innovative environmental systems that provide significant energy savings and an improved indoor climate. The advanced solution utilizes a double-glazed facade, an “active “curtain wall, which is mechanically ventilated and integrated with the building climate control systems. It also includes computer-controlled venetian blinds that are linked to solar sensors.
