Bill Hayes has been appointed operations director of Skanska Integrated Projects (SIPs), which is responsible for all of Skanska’s privately-financed and framework building programmes in the UK.
He joins the board of SIPs from Bovis Lend Lease, where he led the Abraxis Group consortium bidding for the £4 billion MoD PFI scheme to provide modern garrison accommodation for 18,000 personnel at Salisbury Plain and Aldershot.
Previously, he had worked for the British Coal Corporation before moving to Kellogg Brown & Root, where he played a key role in the contractorisation of the Aldermaston Nuclear Research Establishments.
At Skanska Integrated Projects, initially he will lead the ongoing development of project management systems and project controls, as well as the strategic management and development of its resources and teams.
Welcoming him, SIPs managing director Simon Hipperson said: “Bill brings considerable experience at senior level from industrial corporations and global engineering companies.
“We are building a team that can uniquely deliver our clients’ PFI, PPP and framework requirements. His appointment will add a valuable dimension to our capabilities.”
