On Monday July 13th, The Duke of Edinburgh will be visiting Kvaerner Cleveland Bridge’s offices and factory in Darlington to mark the company’s contribution to the export of British engineering skills.
The Duke will tour the factory, visit the apprentice school and will unveil a plaque to mark the last shipment of steel being shipped to China for the Jiangying Bridge.
The Jiangying Bridge, when completed in August 1999, will be the largest suspension bridge in China and the fourth largest suspension bridge in the world.
