Skanska’s refurbishment specialist Kontor has won a £5 million contract to transform the interior of a six-storey complex at 37-38 Curzon Street in Mayfair.
Kontor’s work involves major alterations to the building that comprises a ground floor cinema and restaurant, two floors of office accommodation and four levels of residential apartments.
These include extending the offices and creating an open plan environment by raising the floors and suspending the ceilings. For the residential levels, the apartments will be structurally altered and reconfigured to provide single four-bedroom apartments on each floor.
Kontor will also replace all existing windows, as well as clean and repair the stone cladding and upgrade the M&E services.
The work starts this month and will be completed by July 2002.
