Skanska Technology, the engineering design specialist of Skanska Construction, has become one of the first company’s in the UK to receive the new internationally-recognised ISO9001: 2000 accreditation for its quality management system.
The company, which has had third party quality management accreditation against BS5750 since 1992, has created an integrated management system that incorporates quality, safety and environmental management systems. It has also added risk management for design and construction to the accreditation.
The company is currently working on high profile projects including the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and the Swiss Re building in the City of London as well as on framework agreements with Anglian Water and Wessex Water.
Skanska Technology has also made a commitment to gain accreditation for the occupational health and safety standard ISO18001 and the environmental standard ISO 14001 before the end of the year.
