Skanska has signed a £1.6 million contract with Derbyshire Constabulary to build an administration block at its headquarters in Ripley under the CLASP framework agreement.
It is the first time a Police Authority has used the CLASP system for its building requirements and is Skanska’s sixth contract under the exclusive three year national agreement it signed with CLASP in April last year.
The building includes a main reception area and general office accommodation such as meeting rooms. It forms part of the overall review of accommodation at Derbyshire Police Headquarters, which is aimed at limiting the amount of temporary accommodation on the site.
Construction work starts this month and will be completed in December 2002.
Derbyshire Constabulary’s capital development officer, Peter Bartle, said, “We are proud to be associated with another ground breaking method of building procurement. By working in partnership with Skanska we are able to develop a state-of-the-art facility extremely quickly.”
The new building has been designed by Derbyshire County Council’s Property Division in consultation with Skanska and Derbyshire Constabulary.
