Skanska’s fit out specialist Kontor won two awards for its Crutched Friars project at the annual Association of Interior Specialists award ceremony.
It took away the Best Project award in the £250,000+ interior fit-out category and then went to win the Contractors Gold Award for the best overall interior fit out.
The scheme, at Jardine Lloyd Thompson’s London head office, involved the formation of new conference and executive dining facilities with a striking four metre high curved stainless steel staircase through the atrium. Architect Househam Henderson was responsible for the design.
Kontor replaced the M&E and installed a sophisticated audio visual and conferencing capability. It also created fully demountable and retractable curved glass partitioning at ground level to provide flexible-working space. Areas can be blocked off for meetings or left open plan to suit requirements.
