A culture of care and concern

Fostering a culture of care and concern for others is at the heart of our Injury-Free Environment programme. This is complemented by the most rigorous application of best practice health and safety processes and procedures, adhering to ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety standards as a minimum.

Every Skanska worker must feel empowered never to accept unsafe behaviour. We have a no-blame culture: learning from accidents and incidents, however they occur, is key to protecting people better in the future.

Health, safety and wellbeing

Being healthy is important too. It's vital we take care of ourselves, to live life to the full and perform to the best of our abilities. This means eating healthily, exercising regularly and finding the right work-life balance.

Our vision

Our health and safety vision is focused around Safer, Healthier, Happier.

Safer

Think safety first. Formal processes and standards help to keep us safe at work, but it’s you and me who make safety part of our culture. Work safely or not at all.

Healthier

Look after mind and body. Take care of your health. Exercise, rest and a good diet all contribute to being healthy and having a positive mental attitude, so we can live life to the full.

Happier

Let’s enjoy life. At work and at home. Friends and family are important, and so are your relationships at work. Keep a healthy balance and get the best of both.

Our vision

Safer, healthier, happier.
