Sector: Rail
The works entailed the production of galvanised steel brackets to provide reinforcement to Network Rail’s Bishopsgate suburban rail tunnel.
The project required 66 "l" shaped steel supports. Working closely with the client’s design and site survey team, our fabrications specialists produced engineering drawings for manufacture.
Bracket detail covered needle beams, spreader beams, support brackets, compression stiffeners, flange and top spreader plates.
In total the job took 130 tonnes of steel manufactured into 1,150 items. Production was undertaken at our Doncaster workshop and delivered to site in two batches. The finished supports were supplied to EXC 3 standard with NDT testing and a galvanised finish. Installation was successfully completed within a tight rail possession window.
