Waling beams (horizontal support beams) and support brackets were manufactured in our own steelwork fabrications workshops for this project.
Part of HS2 Euston approaches work, the work included fabrication/welding, non-destructive testing, painting and installation. Each bespoke beam was made for a specific location to ensure a smooth fit over the existing anchor positions.
With limited space on site, following manufacture, the beams and brackets were stored at our Doncaster works until called off for site installation.
Working on a live railway, under AOL conditions meant added logistical challenges which were overcome through careful planning.
