A new identity for Moorgate Exchange
Moor Place is a 12-storey office building, next to Moorgate Station, in the city of London. We built the 20,200sqm building for BlackRock and CarVal Investors, in conjunction with Quadrant Estates. It was designed by architects HKR.
Our in-house skills
We used a specialist in-house team, combining its skills in design, construction, mechanical and electrical engineering and ceiling installation to deliver the project.
Award-winning environmental features
One of the building’s most striking features is a series of six green landscaped roof terraces, with spectacular views of London. It has achieved both BREEAM excellent and gold in the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design certification. Both accolades signify the building’s green credentials.
A range of sustainable materials was used to build Moor Place, such as recycled aggregates in the concrete. Recycled rainwater and grey water storage systems were installed. These reduce the demand for water, and provide water used in the toilets and in the irrigation system for the plants on the terraces and roof.
Energy efficient
By using technologies such as LED lighting, low-energy fan coil units and highly efficient chillers and boilers to create this building, we have ensured that tenants will enjoy low-energy consumption and reduced running costs.
