Green Solutions Energy
The design for operational energy (highway lighting) has considered energy efficiency with the use of LED luminaires and intelligent management being investigated, although as yet neither has been implemented. New technologies are being investigated alongside the client and this includes lighting columns fitted with photovoltaic panels which feed into the national grid during the day and draw from the grid at night. Small equipment such as weather stations have photovoltaic power supply, but are backed up with mains supply.
