Press release 25/10/2002 00:00 CET

Skanska has handed over its latest school built under the PFI, a 1500 place secondary school in East London.

Kingsford Community School includes an array of high tech facilities, such as PCs for every pupil, a fully equipped recording studio, drama and dance facilities, all weather sports surfaces and an assembly hall that can quickly be transformed into a theatre.

It is part of a £23 million package of three schools Skanska is building in Newham for NUPPP, with the first school handed over in July and the last one to be finished in July 2003.

Skanska is also building a 1,450-place secondary school in Redbridge, Essex called Oaks Park High in another PFI contract for NUPPP.
